FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
Check ceiling space above proposed position of dome for framing and electric wiring layout.
As a precaution in existing homes turn off the electricity at the switchboard before cutting into the ceiling.
Refer to your selected dome for the required trim size. Smaller domes may fit between the joists, but larger types will require an opening trimmed to suit.
Cut out the circular opening and check that the dome fits correctly.
Drill a hole in centre of dome for light cable.
Run a bead of wallboard adhesive around the perimeter of the ceiling opening and screw dome into position setting screw heads just below the surface of the dome.
When adhesive has cured stop screw-holes and any gaps between the dome and ceiling with stopping plaster. Sand smooth if necessary when filling is dry.
To provide firm fixing for your light fitting, fix a piece of timber horizontally above the centre of the dome supported on each side by the ceiling joists.
Drill a hole in the centre of this and feed through the electric wiring cable.
A flat type paint is recommended to finish the dome.
Note: Electric wiring alterations must be carried out by a registered Electrician.
